Counter-UAS Authority Security, Safety, and Reauthorization Act

What it does
- Amends the Homeland Security Act to authorize the Secretary of Homeland Security and Attorney General to seize, exercise control of, or confiscate unmanned aircraft systems and aircraft threatening covered sites or events.
- Requires the FAA Administrator to coordinate with DHS and DOJ before authorizing counter-UAS actions and to certify that such actions would not adversely impact aviation safety or airspace operations.
- Directs the Secretary of Homeland Security, in coordination with the Attorney General and FAA Administrator, to maintain within one year a list of approved counter-UAS detection and mitigation systems, equipment, and technologies with descriptions of their functions and authorized uses.
- Requires the FAA Administrator to make written determinations that counter-UAS systems meet minimum performance requirements and do not present adverse impacts on aviation safety, or that any identified impacts can be sufficiently mitigated.
