VET Act of 2025

What it does
- Directs the Secretary of Labor to carry out a grant program providing up to $10,000 per covered individual and up to $500,000 per eligible entity annually to reimburse hiring costs, including licensure, certification, training, recruitment, and relocation.
- Establishes eligibility for military members eligible for preseparation counseling, veterans, and their spouses, with preference for those involuntarily separated, with energy-related training, residing in qualified opportunity zones, or facing significant employment barriers.
- Limits eligible entities to those whose primary function is energy generation, transmission, storage, or distribution, or manufacture of energy equipment and components, with preference for those in qualified opportunity zones or small businesses.
- Authorizes appropriations of $60,000,000 for each fiscal year 2026 through 2031, with no more than 15 percent to be used for administrative costs, and requires grantees to report on fund use, employee retention, and satisfaction.
