USCP Empowerment Act of 2025

What it does
- Authorizes the Capitol Police Board to detect, identify, monitor, and track unmanned aircraft systems posing credible threats without prior consent, including by intercepting communications used to control them.
- Authorizes Capitol Police to disrupt, seize, or destroy unmanned aircraft systems threatening Capitol facilities using reasonable force if necessary.
- Requires the Capitol Police Board to coordinate with the Secretary of Transportation and FAA Administrator when actions may affect aviation safety or airspace operations.
- Mandates the Chief of Capitol Police to report to Congress every 6 months on activities under this section, including instances of harm to persons or property and actions taken on intercepted communications.
- Establishes that intercepted communications from unmanned aircraft systems may be retained for no more than 180 days unless necessary for investigation, prosecution, or ongoing security operations.
