CHOICE for Veterans Act of 2025

What it does
- Requires the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to notify claimants that accredited persons and recognized organizations may assist with claim preparation and prosecution, and to maintain a publicly available list of such accredited persons updated at least quarterly.
- Directs the Secretary to include a warning on Department web portals about fees that recognized agents or attorneys may charge claimants for claim-preparation services.
- Allows individuals to submit applications for recognition as agents or attorneys to assist with initial and supplemental claims, with conditional temporary recognition if verification cannot be completed within 180 days.
- Prohibits the Secretary from refusing recognition to an individual solely because that person previously charged fees for claim-preparation services or is employed by a nonprofit organization seeking recognition in an official capacity.
- Authorizes the Secretary to charge and collect an assessment from individuals seeking recognition as agents or attorneys who charge or collect fees from claimants for claim-preparation services.
