ASTRO Act

What it does

• Amends title 31, United States Code to allow federal agencies to provide transportation to officers and employees returning from space when necessary for medical research, monitoring, diagnosis, treatment, or other NASA-approved official duties prior to post-flight medical clearance.
• Requires the NASA Administrator to submit annual reports to Congress detailing each instance of transportation provided under the amended authority, including descriptions, names of recipients, and associated costs.
