EBSA Investigations Transparency Act

What it does
- Amends the Employee Retirement Income Security Act to require the Secretary of Labor to submit an annual report to Congress by December 31 on the status of EBSA investigations, including those active or under targeted compliance monitoring during the preceding fiscal year.
- Requires the annual report to disclose for each investigation: the EBSA office that opened it, the date it was opened, the date document requests were first made, and whether it was concluded within 36 months of the initial document request.
- Requires disclosure of reasons and an estimated conclusion date for any investigation not concluded within 36 months of the initial document request.
- Excludes from the report any information identifying private parties to investigations, including plan sponsors, fiduaries, service providers, employees, or participants.
