Access to Reproductive Care for Servicemembers Act
What it does
- Directs the Secretary of Defense and the Secretaries of the Army, Navy, and Air Force to approve leave for servicemembers and their dependents seeking non-covered reproductive health care, including abortion care and assisted reproductive technology.
- Requires the Defense Department to reimburse servicemembers and dependents for meals, lodging, round-trip transportation, and escorts or attendants necessary to access reproductive health care services when such services are not available near their location.
- Prohibits commanding officers from requiring servicemembers to disclose the nature of time-sensitive reproductive health care to their chain of command when requesting leave.
- Prohibits any adverse action against servicemembers for requesting, taking, providing, or approving leave or actions authorized under this Act related to reproductive health care.
