Federal Retirement Fairness Act
What it does
- Amends title 5, United States Code, to allow civilian service in temporary positions after December 31, 1988, to be counted as creditable service under the Federal Employees Retirement System.
- Applies the change to any current or future employee, including temporary employees of the United States Postal Service, and Members of Congress.
- Directs the Director of the Office of Personnel Management to notify agency Chief Human Capital Officers and other officials to inform eligible employees and Members of their right to make deposits for previously uncredited service.
- Directs the Director of the Office of Personnel Management to promulgate regulations to implement the Act and its amendments.

Agreed to without objection.
