Student Veteran Benefit Restoration Act of 2025

What it does

Restores educational assistance entitlements to veterans who attended schools that were unapproved, committed fraud, were closed by the Department of Justice, or violated education regulations, effective from the bill's enactment date.
Requires educational institutions receiving GI Bill benefits to repay the Department of Veterans Affairs the amount of covered educational assistance paid to veterans whose entitlements are restored under the bill.
Permits the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to file a claim with the Department of the Treasury for recoupment of all educational assistance received by institutions found guilty of or liable for fraud.
Establishes a separate appeals process allowing educational institutions to request review of repayment findings made by the Secretary.
