Drone Safety Statement Modernization Act

What it does
- Requires manufacturers of small unmanned aircraft systems to provide a safety statement to the initial operator at first activation.
- Requires the operator to electronically acknowledge reading and understanding each component of the safety statement.
- Directs the FAA Administrator to develop, maintain, and periodically review safety statement requirements covering applicable laws, airspace restrictions, safety recommendations, and enforcement consequences.
- Directs the FAA Administrator to issue an example safety statement within 120 days of enactment that manufacturers may—but are not required to—adopt.
